Paris - Here we come
That is rather nice to live close to the most beautiful city of the world, without all the inconvenients ! For our first day of vacation, we spend the afternoon at Trocadero to visit the aquarium and then walk under the famous Eiffel tower. Aquarium was rather disappointing, not as good as american ones to be honest. However it was worth getting a picture with the loves of my life with the Eiffel tower as a background.(the other love taking the picture...)
Mardi-gras
Last day before the winter vacation, there was a mardi-gras party at Antoine's school : dress-up and crêpes making, children were completely excited!!! Featuring Axel as a knight, Tommy as Zorro, Léandre as a Chinese boy, Ilona as a princess, Shayana and Emma as bees, Margot as spiderman, Oliver as a vampire and Antoine as batman pretending to be superman....

Sortie à La Défense / Venue at La Defense
Il y a quelques semaines, nous avons été invités à aller manger chez un copain d'école qui habite au coeur du quartier d'affaires de Paris La Défense ! Là où Pierre travaille ! L'occasion de prendre le train, puis le RER et de découvrir où papa Pierre travaille. Autant pour Antoine, prendre les transports en commun, c'est super facile, autant Hugo était très impressionné et était content de pouvoir compter sur la présence rassurante de son papa.
A la Défense, on trouve de tout: de hautes tours bien sûr, mais aussi des parcs pour les enfants, un fabuleux manège digne de Jules Vernes et même une église !!!
Few weeks ago, we were invited by a friend for a lunch at Paris La Défense, the business heart of Paris and also where Pierre now works. That was a great opportunity for the boys to experience the common transportation (train and RER) and to find out where daddy goes to work every day. Antoine was very at ease in the train but Hugo was a little bit scared and was happy to stand by daddy.
At La Defense, you can find everything: high rises of course but also parks, and a wonderful carroussel and even a church !

Automne à Orry/ Automn in Orry
De nouvelles photos enfin. Les travaux d'aménagement de placard dans le bureau sont terminés, l'endroit est de nouveau exploitable. Alors un petit peu de tout dans cette série de photos avec comme fil rouge notre quotidien à Orry. L'automne s'est bien installé dans l'Oise, fidèle à lui-même dans cette région: froid et humide et maussade....brrrrr. Heureusement, nous pouvons compter sur Hugo et Antoine jamais à cours de facéties pour nous faire rire.
Un des évènements du mois d'octobre a été la célébration du jour des Nations Unies à l'école d'Antoine: petit spectacle et l'occasion de vous présenter les maitresses d'Antoine.
Autre sujet: quelques photos d'Orry parce que ça fait bien village vieille France. C'est surtout pour les clichés pour mes amis américains....Il manque juste le petit papy avec son beret et sa baguette sous le bras.
Enfin, petit moment câlin entre papa et ses fistons (qui ont enfin compris que c'est lui qu'ils doivent réveiller la nuit, hourra !!!!).
Dans les nouvelles, Antoine a été élu Star of the week à l'école pour son bon comportement (ouais bah il se lâche bien à la maison ....) et Hugo commence à vouloir élargir son vocabulaire : pain, deyo (de l'eau), un truc qui ressemble à chaussure, bref...il veut parler.
Now in english for my american friends. So here are a lot of new pictures of our daily life in Orry. Autumn in Orry is cold, humid and not very fun. I miss Texas !!!!! But Hugo and Antoine are always inventing new faces or behaviors that make us laugh.
There was a United Nation day at school and there was a little show with the children and the teaches, followed by food from all over the world degustation.
Then there are some pictures of our new town which really gathers all the clichés I am sure you have about a typical french village. Only a grandpa with a beret and a baguette is missing to complete the whole picture !
I also show you the pictures of a nice bedtime with daddy Pierre and his beloved sons, even Vadrouille is attending the session ! And Antoine and Hugo know at least that it's their daddy they have to wake up at night (hurray !!!!).
Last, Antoine was Star of the Week at school this week, meaning he behaved very well (well I guess he's releasing the pressure at home then...) and Hugo is doing a lot of effort to try to talk.

Réunion de famille / Family reunion
Le temps passe vite quand on reprend le travail. Tout se passe bien, les journées sont longues et intenses mais riches à la fois. Les week-ends passent également très vite. Le week-end dernier, nous avons reçu mamie Evelyne et tata Maud pour célébrer l'anniversaire de mamie. Une occasion de bien manger et surtout de bien rire. Nous n'avons pas manqué de rendre hommage au Texas avec une chouette séance photos coiffés de nos chapeaux de cow-boys.
Time goes very quickly now that I am back to work. Everything is going well. Days are busy and intense but very interesting. Week-ends are also very busy. Last week-end, we celebrated my mom's birthday. Auntie Maud was also there and we had a great time all together. We didn't miss the chance to think about Texas and we had a memorable photo shoot, wearing our cow-boys hats.

Un nouveau départ / A new start
Voilà des nouvelles photos de notre nouvelle vie en France, une nouvelle maison, de nouveaux voisins. Il manque quelques aménagements et le beau tableau de Maylis à fixer au mur (mais j'ai déjà une expo pour ses photos dans mon petit coin détente). L'été a été clément avec nous, les garçons ont bien profité du jardin. Ils se sont très vite liés d'amitié avec Joakim le petit voisin qui a le même âge qu'Antoine. La rentrée s'est bien passée. Antoine m'a dit vendredi "j'ai passé une bonne journée à l'école maman", ça fait rêver hein ? Hugo s'est bien adapté aussi chez sa nounou. Demain c'est ma rentrée, retour aux longues journées, au train train métro-boulot-dodo !
Here are some pictures of our new life in France. We still have to work on some improvements (like in France, closets are cruelly missing...). I have a dedicated space in my dining area for my friend Maylis' pictures. This is my relaxing spot when I can sit, relax and enjoy the view on the backyard. Summer was nice in France and the boys have played a lot in the backyard. They met a new friend Joakim who is 3 yo like Antoine. First day back to school went well. Antoine even told me " Mom, I have had a good day at school...". Hugo is also doing well with his new nanny. Tomorrow is my big day back to work and the train-work-sleep routine !
